Tusker electrocuted

An elephant was electrocuted after it came in contact with an electric fence at a farm in Yaragabalu of Bailur forest range. 

The tusker, aged around 40, trampled the fence erected to protect the crop from the animals by owner Siddamariyappa and his son Siddalinga. The forest officers and Hanur police inspected the spot. After the post-mortem, ivories of the tusker were taken out. 

The police have registered a case against Siddamariyappa and his son Siddalinga. 

Circle Inspector Rajanna, Sub-Inspector Mohitsahdev, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Sridhar, Range Forest Officer Mahadevaiah, Chief Conservator of Forests, A J Mishra, Conservator of Forests Vijay Mohanraj and Deputy Conservator of Forests Javed Mumtaz visited the spot.
