<p>Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha president Vatal Nagaraj on Thursday said that he was the person who suggested the state government to host Tipu Sultan Jayanti.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Speaking to media persons here Nagaraj said, he has been celebrating Tipu Jayanti for the past 15 years. "Tipu was born in Devanahalli near Bengaluru and he is not a foreigner. I support Tipu jayanti," he reiterated.</p>.<p class="bodytext">"The state government had invited me as a main speaker during the last year's celebration. In my speech, I had said that Tipu was a great hero of the nation." Vatal Nagaraj congratulated the state government and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for organising Tipu jayanti.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Vatal Nagaraj said, he would launch an agitation demanding the Centre to instal the statue of Tipu in front of Samsat Bhavan.</p>
