<p>Bengaluru, DHNS: State BJP president B Y Vijayendra on Thursday hit back at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah with a sharply worded post on X, accusing him and his party of “shedding crocodile tears” over social justice, reservations, and the Constitution.</p>.<p>Responding to Siddaramaiah’s remarks, Vijayendra wrote that he had respectfully suggested Congress declare Mallikarjun Kharge as its prime ministerial candidate, believing that Siddaramaiah’s concern for the marginalised was genuine.</p>.<p>“Instead of accepting the suggestion positively, he replied with despair and an unconvincing response,” his post read.</p>.<p>He went on to question Congress’s track record, stating that despite Kharge’s stature and experience, the party sidelined his seniority and denied him the chance to become chief minister. </p>.<p><strong>‘Self-serving’</strong></p>.<p>Calling Siddaramaiah’s concern “self-serving”, Vijayendra claimed that all communities in the state could see through the facade.</p>.<p>“The countdown has begun, and this duplicity is bound to explode any moment,” he warned.</p>.<p>Taking a dig at the Congress, Vijayendra cited the case of Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, a Dalit leader who, according to him, was neglected in the Congress but was welcomed into the BJP and immediately given an important organisational role.</p>.<p>“Chalavadi Narayanaswamy was sent to the Legislative Council and appointed as the Leader of the Opposition, a recognition of his capabilities and merit,” Vijayendra said.</p>.<p>He also praised senior BJP leader Govind Karjol, describing him as a former deputy chief minister and current member of parliament, and asserted that the doors to higher positions remain wide open for him.</p>.<p>“We don’t need lessons from Congress on how to respect Dalits and backward classes,” Vijayendra said, concluding his post.</p>
