Writer Erya Lakshminarayana Alva will be felicitated and presented with ‘Sahitya Kalashevadhi’ award during the three-day 39th state-level award programme, organised by Ranghabhoomi, at MGM College here, from January 12.

Raghabhoomi General Secretary Nandakumar told mediapersons, on Thursday, that Lakshminarayana Alva, who will be presented with a cheque of Rs 20,000, will interact with the audience. The organisers intend to release a souvenir and felicitate theatre artists.

Opposition Leader in Legislative Council Kota Srinivas Poojary and former minister Pramod Madhwaraj will be the chief guests. The award-winning play ‘Mokkam Post Bombilvadi’ will be staged on the occasion.

The valedictory programme will be attended by B M Sharavendra Swami and Theater Director Jeevanram Sulya. The plays ‘Marikala’ and ‘Ninage Neene Gelati’ will be staged on the occasion, he added.
