Amid row over article remarks, DYFI invites Shashi Tharoor to startup meet

The Congress MP was learnt to have conveyed his inconvenience in attending owing to other commitments.

Thiruvananthapuram: Close on the heels of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor praising the growth of startups in Kerala under the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) government, party's youth outfit -- Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) -- invited the Thiruvananthapuram MP for a startup festival to be held in the state capital. 

Tharoor was learnt to have conveyed his inconvenience in attending owing to other commitments. 

DYFI national president and MP A A Rahim and state secretary V K Sanoj called on Tharoor on Wednesday and invited him to the event to be held in Thiruvananthapuram on March 1 and 2.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is scheduled to inaugurate the event. 

Tharoor's praise for the growth of startups in Kerala under the LDF rule had irked the Congress leaders in Kerala.

AICC leadership had also reportedly conveyed displeasure over it.
