<p>Mumbai: At least 21 police personnel were injured and three police vehicles were vandalised after a high group resorted to stone pelting and violence during the demolition of a dargah in the Nashik district of Maharashtra late on Tuesday night. </p><p>The Saat-Peer Baba Dargah at Kathe Galli in Nashik city was ordered to be demolished by the Bombay High Court. </p><p>The demolition was being carried out by the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC), when the Nashik City police personnel had to face the ire of the people.</p>.Murshidabad riots pre-planned; BJP, BSF, section of central agencies involved: Mamata.<p>Police had to resort to lathi-charged and use tear-gas shells to control the mob, reports reaching here said. </p><p>A dozen persons have been rounded up on Wednesday. </p><p>Nashik City Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik is personally overseeing the situation. </p><p>The trust was asked to remove the encroachment voluntarily by April 15 or face official demolition action.</p><p>“Last night, as per the Bombay High Court's order, the trustees of a religious body initiated the process of removing an encroachment. During this time, a violent mob gathered to oppose the removal and pelted stones at the police in an attempt to disrupt the process,” the Nashik Police said.</p>.<p>“We commend our officers and personnel who brought the situation under control within 30 minutes through appropriate use of force and tact. The city is calm and fully back to normal. The said encroachment was then demolished in the morning, FIRs are being registered and arrests are underway. Law will take its course. Don't believe in rumours of any kind,” it added. </p><p>According to officials, the situation turned violent shortly after midnight when a huge crowd assembled and targetted the police team.</p><p>As of now, a huge posse of police personnel has been stationed in the vicinity of the Kathe Galli area. </p>
