<p>Mumbai: Maharashtra’s Fisheries department will prepare a Vision Document 2047 which will factor in impacts of climate change and elaborate mitigation strategies.</p><p>“Also, the Vision Document should include all aspects related to the future of fisheries, such as modern technology and the use of AI,” Fisheries and Ports Minister <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/nitesh-rane">Nitesh Rane</a> instructed during a high-level meeting. </p><p>Fisheries Secretary N Ramaswamy, Fisheries Commissioner Kishor Tawde, and other officials of the department were present.</p><p>Referring to the monsoon hitting early this year, Rane said that due to this, fishermen have lost 20 more days of livelihood, and the department has also lost revenue. </p><p>“Climate change has the most direct impact on fisheries. While incorporating the effects of climate change and the mitigation measures to be taken by 2047 in this Vision Document, it should be ensured that these measures are people-centric. Modern technology, supply to fishing ports and fish markets, and the use of solar energy should also be included in this Vision Document,” he added.</p>
