<p>Mumbai: In a tragic incident, a Deputy Commissioner of Police based in Mumbai died in a road accident in Telangana on Saturday. </p><p>An IPS officer of the 2010 batch, DCP Sudhakar Pathare was heading the Port Zone in Mumbai. </p><p>The accident was reported from Nagarkurnool near Hyderabad in Telangana, reports said. </p><p>Pathare was in Hyderabad to attend a mid-career training programme. He was going to Srisailam in Nandyal district for a visit to a temple when the SUV he was travelling in collided with a bus. His contributions in maintaining law and order in Mumbai Port Zone and earlier in Navi Mumbai were invaluable, and his loss leaves a profound void in our ranks,” he said. </p><p>“We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. The Mumbai Police force stands together in mourning the loss of one of its finest officers. We pray the departed soul rests in peace,” the Mumbai CP said in a post on X.</p>
