<p>Mumbai: Amid the fast-changing political situation in Maharashtra, <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/shiv-sena-ubt">Shiv Sena (UBT)</a> head Uddhav Thackeray’s lieutenant Sanjay Raut dropped a bombshell claiming that Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde held a secret meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Raut claimed that Shinde was told by Shah to merge Shiv Sena with BJP if he wanted to claim the post of Maharashtra's Chief Minister. </p><p>During the meeting with BJP’s chief strategist, Shinde also complained about Devendra Fadnavis, he said.</p><p>However, according to Raut, the meeting yielded no results as Shinde, chief leader of Shiv Sena, was rebuked for his repeated claims for Maharashtra's CM post.</p><p>On Shinde's bid for CM-ship, Raut said that Shah reiterated that the BJP had over 125 MLAs and rightly deserved to lead the government, though Shinde argued that the elections were won under his leadership.</p>.Show me photos of RSS chief going to Kumbh: Sanjay Raut slams Eknath Shinde.<p>The Shinde-led Shiv Sena, however, has pooh-poohed Raut — <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/shiv-sena-ubt">Shiv Sena (UBT)</a>'s chief spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member — for making such a claim. “Raut wants to remain in circulation in the media and hence, making such claims,” said Naresh Mhaske, Shiv Sena’s Thane MP and the party's chief spokesperson. </p><p>Raut’s claim about the Shinde-Shah meeting was made in '<em>Rokhthok</em>', his weekly column in <em>Saamana</em>, which he reiterated in his daily interaction with reporters. </p><p>According to him, the meeting took place around 0400 hrs on February 22 at West Inn Hotel in Koregaon Park area of Pune.</p><p>“The leader of 57 MLAs had to stay awake till 4 am to meet Shah,” said Raut.</p><p>"I have no prestige in the government, I was the Chief Minister till yesterday. All my decisions are being reversed," Shinde told Shah, according to Raut.</p>
