<p>As over dependence of artificial intelligence (AI) is creating doubts over potential job threats, Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy has a different take on the matter.</p><p>According to Murthy, AI must be seen as a tool which facilitates growth in the information technology (IT) and it should not be seen as a threat in the job market. </p><p>In an interview with moneycontrol.com, Murthy revealed that using AI’s ChatGPT tool has helped him enhance his speech preparation time to a great extent. </p><p>"This whole fear that technology will take away jobs is not right. It will create a different kind of job. For example, what I found in using ChatGPT for my speeches was the following: the smartness is in providing the requirement definition for my speech. The smartness is in asking the right question," he said. </p><p>Technology has seen many advances in recent times -- from mainframes to the internet, to e-commerce, digital, and cloud, each shift sparking fears about job threats.</p><p>However Murthy sought to alley the apprehensions and said people should look at AI in a positive way. </p><p>"So, what will happen in the future is our programmers and analysts will become smarter and smarter in defining better and better requirements, more complex requirements. They will solve bigger problems, more complex problems. So, I am very positive about how AI will only enhance the growth rate of our industry", he added.</p><p>Looking at the current trend, Murthy opined that AI will ultimately lead to more technology being built as it simplifies the entire process.</p><p>“Once the skeletons are produced by AI, then it becomes extremely easy for the mass programmer, for the large number of programmers, to produce high-quality code, high-quality programs,” he dwelled further.</p><p>Murthy's comments assume significance as more and more IT companies are embracing AI tools to enhance productivity. </p>
