<p>At a press conference here, NCP Maharashtra chief Madhukar Pichad said his party has already demanded setting up of States Re-organisation Commission to look into demands for smaller states in the country.<br /><br />The BJP is the only other national party which has openly supported a separate Vidarbha state. The Congress has not made its stand clear, while the Shiv Sena and the MNS are dead against it.<br /><br />Pichad said defeat of political leaders demanding smaller states in elections is no indicator that people have given up on the demand for smaller states.<br />He said it is wrong to construe that the demand for Vidarbha is a division of the Marathi-speaking state, for which 105 people had laid down their lives during the Saynkuta Maharashtra movement. He said the NCP would support any resolution concerning Vidarbha in the state legislature.</p>
