PM Modi to watch 'Sabarmati Report' film in Parliament complex

New Delhi, Dec 2 (PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will watch the movie Sabarmati Report on Monday evening.

The prime minister will go to the Balyogi Auditorium in the Parliament Library Building to watch the movie starring Vikrant Massey, officials said.

Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, the film claims to reveal the truth behind the fire incident in the Sabarmati Express at Godhra on February 27, 2002, killing 59 devotees returning from Ayodhya after participating in a religious ceremony.

The film also stars Raashi Khanna and Ridhi Dogra in key roles.

Meanwhile, Massey, best known for his work in 12th Fail, Sector 36, Haseen Dilruba announced his departure from acting "until time deems right".

In a post in the wee hours of Monday, the actor shared that it was time for him to go back home and recalibrate.

“The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise its time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor.”

“So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between.” Vikrant further wrote.

Massey's decision to take a step back from acting comes at a time when the actor has been facing criticism online after a change in his opinion on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party around the release time of his latest - The Sabarmati Report.

"I was a big critic of BJP. But as I travelled across the country, I realised that things are not so bad, Muslims are not in danger in the country," the actor was heard saying in an interview.

Actor Vikrant Massey had also received death threats ahead of the film's release that is set in the aftermath of the Godhra train burning incident in 2002.
