<p>New Delhi: Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairperson Harivansh Singh led India’s official delegation to the inauguration of Pope Leo XIV in <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/vatican-city">Vatican City</a> on Sunday.</p><p>Harivansh was accompanied by Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton.</p><p>The Indian delegation had an audience with Pope Leo XIV after the ceremony.</p><p>“Attended the inaugural mass of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV at Saint Peter’s Square in Vatican City. In my brief meeting with him, I extended my felicitations and best wishes on behalf of the people of India,” Harivansh posted on X.</p>.<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier conveyed his felicitations to Pope Leo XIV on his election as the pontiff.</p>
