<p>Indian Railways will install coin vending machines at various stations, enabling small changes to be available to them anytime. <br /><br /></p>.<p>According to the ministry, A-1 category stations will have a maximum of four machines at each booking office, while the number of CVMs in other stations will be restricted to two at each booking office. <br /><br />The banks who are allowed to install the CVMs will maintain them at their own expense. <br />The banks will also be responsible for availability of coins at all times, and will indicate the name of the manager to be contacted when the machines fall short of coins or require maintenance. The machines will be installed for three years initially. Their location at the station will be identified by the respective railway divisions. <br /><br />“The detailed guidelines on this subject has been sent to all Zonal Railways. Under these guidelines, first choice could be given to the State Bank of India (SBI) followed by the other Public Sector Banks on first-cum-first-served basis,” said the ministry.<br /><br />According to the terms of the scheme, Indian Railways will provide space for the installation of the CVM for a one-time license fee of Re 1. <br /><br />Though electricity for the machine’s operation will be provided for free of cost, the banks should ensure the wiring to connect the machines to the nearest main supply point duly protected by MCB. <br /><br />No advertisement<br /><br />No advertisement, except the name and logo of the bank, will be allowed, while the machines should be located in a place where it does not hinder passenger movement, the ministry said.</p>
