<p class="title">After a road show and rally by Congress President Rahul Gandhi in Bikaner in poll-bound Rajasthan, the state Congress is now focusing on shortlisting candidates for the controversial seats where multiple aspirants are staking claim for tickets to contest the December 7 assembly polls.</p>.<p class="title">To ensure only deserving candidates make it, the party will be collecting secret feedback from the local residents. For this Congress party has appointed division-wise observers, who have already submitted a panel of three likely candidates in all 200 constituencies of Rajasthan. The party will be conducting the secret exercise in as many as 25 assembly constituencies.</p>.<p class="title">"The exercise is to rule out undeserving candidate from the race. Based on the feedback given by the observers, the party would screen and shortlist the candidates. The final names shall be forwarded to the party high command," a Congress leader told DH.</p>.<p class="title"><strong>Rahul's con call</strong></p>.<p class="title">Meanwhile, Congress president Rahul Gandhi held a conference call (over telephone) with party's district presidents of Rajasthan. According to district president Kailash Meena, Gandhi enquired about organisational activities in Jhalawar, the home district of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. Meena said, "Gandhi focused only on organisational activities and enquired about booth-level activities in Jhalawar and the Shakti project in which a Congress worker can interact with Gandhi through an app".</p>.<p class="title">The Congress chief also asked the district presidents to link tribals, dalits, and backward communities with the party by identifying their problems.</p>.<p class="title"><strong>Wrong figures</strong></p>.<p class="title">BJP’s election in-charge and Union minister Prakash Javadekar accused Rahul Gandhi of lying at election rallies and deliberately misleading the farmers by claiming that they were not being given actual MSP for their crops.</p>.<p class="title">"Rahul Gandhi has been taught to lie. However, he has not been taught properly. A lie can never become the truth,’’ said Javadekar, speaking at Shaki Sammelan alongside state BJP chief Madan Lal Saini and Raje.</p>
