She began feeling 'worthless': Influencer Misha Agrawal's family breaks silence on her sudden demise

Sharing a screenshot of Misha's phone screensaver that was a picture of her account with 1M followers, her sister Mukta Agrawal took to the former's Instagram handle and wrote: 'Her phone wallpaper says everything. Her only aim of life.'

After the internet was left guessing the reason behind the passing of content creator Misha Agrawal, her family has confirmed that she died by suicide.

The influencer, who was famous for her rant videos, passed away on April 24, just two days before her 25th birthday.

Sharing a screenshot of Misha's phone screensaver that was a picture of her account with 1M followers, her sister Mukta Agrawal took to the former's Instagram handle and wrote: “Her phone wallpaper says everything. Her only aim in life.”

Misha, whose account currently has 359K followers on Instagram, reportedly aspired to hit the 1M mark, as per her sister's note.

“My little baby sister had built her world around Instagram and her followers, with a single goal of reaching 1 million followers and gaining loving fans," the post read, as her sister added that when Misha's followers started to decrease, she began feeling "worthless". She recalled her sister asking her what she would do if her followers decreased, fearing that her "career will be over".

Actor Taapsee Pannu also took to Instagram, reacting to the reason behind the creator's demise.

“This is something I long feared seeing the obsession of a lot of people around. Fear that a day will come the numbers here will overpower the love to live. Fear that the desperate need of virtual love will blind u towards the real love around you. And this instant gratification and validation of likes n comments will overtake the degrees which make u worth much more. It’s heartbreaking to see this,(sic)" the Dunki actress wrote.

“I tried to console her, explaining that this isn’t her entire world, it’s just a side job, and if it doesn’t work out, it’s not the end. I reminded her of her talents, her LLB degree, and her preparation for PCSJ, telling her that she will become a judge one day and doesn’t need to worry about her career," her sister wrote.

She reveals that despite her urging Misha to focus on her happiness and asking her to "view Instagram as mere entertainment and not let it consume her," Misha did not listen to her and became "so consumed by Instagram and followers that she left our world".

At the end of her note, she revealed that, overwhelmed by all this, Misha took her own life, leaving the family devastated.

However, people in the comment section did not seem to buy this reason behind the demise of Misha Agrawal, as one wrote: "I spoke to her many times, she truly believed in herself and was headstrong and confident. She knew she would achieve this number. This seems like a cover, she seems to be going through something on her personal front. The family should probe further, I saw some of her close stories in the past and it seems like she was affected by her emotions due to a person. This is so devastating.(sic)"

Meanwhile, others called it a lie and said the reason seemed fishy.

"I don't think this is the reason... I think she's being cheated on, I observed she used to mention a guy in Instagram reels...and she's not following him anymore... I think it's not about followers..no one knew what she was going through..this is just assumption,(sic)" another user wrote.

Along with creating content on Instagram, Misha was also the founder of Mish Cosmetics, a hair care brand.
