<p>New Delhi: Amping its attack on the <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/congress">Congress</a> over alleged links with billionaire investor George Soros, the <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/bjp">BJP</a> on Sunday trained its guns on party chief <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/sonia-gandhi">Sonia Gandhi</a>. </p><p>In a thread on X, the BJP alleged that Gandhi has ties to an organisation financed by the George Soron Foundation, which supported the Kashmir separatist movement. The party said that the Gandhis “shared (the) goal of diminishing India’s growth” with foreign players.</p><p>“Sonia Gandhi, as the Co-President of the FDL-AP Foundation, is linked to an organisation financed by the George Soros Foundation. It's something truly noteworthy,” the thread reads further. </p><p>The BJP has intensified its campaign against the Gandhis, alleging that they have ties with foreign players, specifically Soros, which has hindered India’s growth story. Allegations made by BJP MPs Sudhansu Trivedi, Nishikant Dubey and Sambhit Patra in both Houses of Parliament have led to protests and demands for action by the Congress. It has also prompted the US State Department to react sharply, saying that it is “disappointing” that the ruling party in India is making an allegation that the US and “deep state” have activated a global network of investigative journalists to attack prime minister Modi and businessman Gautam Adani and thereby destabilise India.</p>
