<p>Hyderabad: The Suryapet police in Telangana have booked the in-laws of a Dalit man suspected of honour killing. The Suryapet district police found Vadlakonda Krishna, 32, from Scheduled Caste (SC), dead on the banks of a canal on the River Musi on Monday. Police booked Krishna's wife, Kotla Bhargavi’s father, Kotla Saidulu; her brothers, Kotla Naveen and Kotla Vamshee; and their friend, Bairu Mahesh, based on a complaint from his father, David.</p><p>Krishna's father, David, alleged that his son's inter-caste marriage with a girl from a BC community six months ago had led to the murder. According to Suryapet police, Krishna from Mamillagadda in Suryapet district had dropped out of his B Pharmacy studies. Kotla Naveen, from the Pillalamarri area in Suryapet town, was building a group of followers with the aim of becoming a leader in their area. As part of this, he befriended Krishna. Naveen often took Krishna to his house, where he was introduced to Naveen's sister Bhargavi. Gradually, Krishna and Bhargavi's friendship turned into love.</p><p>When people around them found out about this, Naveen warned Krishna several times. Bhargavi's relatives also threatened him. It is also learnt that Naveen, with the help of his other friends Mahesh and Krishna, was involved in petty settlements in that area.</p><p>On Sunday, Krishna left his home after receiving a phone call from Mahesh regarding a settlement task. Thereafter, he didn't return home. On Monday morning he was found murdered on the banks of the canal.</p><p>On Tuesday, Dalit organisations staged a protest demanding justice as well as action against the alleged murderers of Krishna. DSP Ravi said that the murder is being investigated from all angles. Sources in the Suryapet police also said that Krishna had two attempted murder cases pending against him.</p>
