Unesco expresses concern over Hampi

“There had been a report earlier that mushrooming commercial activities as well as illegal constructions have threatened the historical monuments in Hampi. The Centre and the state government have been informed about this”, she told reporters here.
Bokova, who is on five-day India tour, also discussed the issue with Central governemt  officials. “The Unesco is working closely with governments to protect these important places,” she said.
