UP: Man tied to tree, beaten over suspicion of theft

On suspicion of theft, a man was tied to a tree, tonsured, and assaulted in UP’s Bulandshahr. The incident reportedly took place on June 13 under Kakod Police Station limits.

The video of the incident went viral on social media. Bulandshahr Additional SP Surendra Nath Tewari informed that two accused involved in the incident were arrested by the police and one accused is still absconding.

“A video is going viral on social media in which 3 people of Vair village of Kakod police station area are seen beating up a person from another village on suspicion of theft. Taking cognizance of this, charges have been registered on the basis of Tahrir received from the family. Two persons have also been arrested in the case. Other statutory action is being taken,” he said.
