<p>Lucknow: Taking strong exception to any decision to transfer Justice Yashwant Verma from whose house alleged <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/cash-discovery-row-sc-collegium-recommends-transfer-of-justice-yashwant-varma-to-allahabad-high-court-3460121">recovery of a substantial amount of cash</a> was made a few days back to Allahabad High Court, the Allahabad HC Bar Association on Monday demanded ‘impeachment’ of Justice Verma and probe by CBI and ED in the matter.</p><p>The Association, which had earlier said that <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/uttar-pradesh/were-not-trash-bin-says-allahabad-bar-association-on-justice-yashwant-vermas-transfer-3456932">Allahabad HC was not a ‘trash bin’</a> where corrupt judges could be transferred, in a general body meeting, also said that the collegium system of appointment of the judges was not ‘transparent’.</p>.Cash discovery: Judicial work withdrawn from Justice Yashwant Varma, says Delhi High Court.<p>The lawyers also went on a symbolic strike for half day in protest against the reported move to transfer Justice Verma to Allahabad HC.</p><p>‘’We condemn any move to transfer Justice Verma to Allahabad HC and demand his impeachment.....the CBI and ED should be allowed to register FIR against him in connection with the alleged recovery of cash from his house,’’ Allahabad HC Bar Association president Anil Tewari said after the meeting in Prayagraj.</p>.Delhi judge cash row: Dhankhar lauds CJI Sanjiv Khanna for ‘transparent, accountable’ handling of case material.<p>Tewari said that the collegium system of appointment of the judges was not ‘transparent. ‘’Capable persons fail to get selected in this system,’’ he added.</p><p>The Association also said that the vacant posts in the Allahabad HC should be filled as soon as possible. The Association also passed a resolution against the ‘Uncle Syndrome’ (judges whose kith and kin are practising in a High Court, should not be appointed in the same court).</p><p>The Association decided to send its resolutions to the CJI and the government.</p>
