<p>New Delhi: In a welcome break for judges and lawyers from their serious work schedule, the SC Advocate-On-Record Association is going to organise the first SCAORA cricket premier league between CJI XI and SCAORA XI at Arun Jaitley stadium here on Sunday.</p><p>The SCAORA has recently launched its prestigious first-ever 20-overs white ball limited cricket league exclusively for Advocate–On–Records (AORs). </p><p>The Cricket League has seven cricket teams, for the current season -- 2025-26 -- promoted by senior advocates of the Supreme Court viz Damma Naidu, PB Suresh, Sajan Povayya, Devadutt Kamat, Buddy Ranganathan, Sitesh Mukherjee and Chinmoy Sharma, according to a senior official.</p><p>All the teams exclusively have AORs. There is a proposal for the games to be played under flood lights (day/night) with a white ball and coloured clothing. </p>.Supreme Court stays Lokpal's 'very very disturbing order' on corruption complaint against High Court judge.<p>The Cricket League is to be launched with an inaugural match between a team comprising of the sitting Supreme Court Judges and High Court Judges (Judges XI) against SCAORA XI (consisting of AORs, Senior Advocates and also the DDCA President, Rohan Jaitley). This match would be played under floodlights at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in the evening on Sunday and would be telecast live also. </p><p>Special permission has been given for this match by the BCCI and the DDCA; and the ground facilities are incidentally being provided free for SCAORA. </p><p>"These sporting events like the Cricket League promises to be a welcome break to both the judges and the AORs from their usual serious work schedules and is a continuation of innovative events being introduced by the current SCAORA Executive Committee like holding an International Legal Conclave recently at Goa and the upcoming launch of an exclusive 'SCAORA Chronicle' along with a proposed Lecture by a siting Supreme Court Judge at Bharat Mandapam in the month of March," SCAORA president Vipin Nair said.</p><p>The cricket initiative has been conceived by a core team of Vipin Nair (President), Amit Sharma (Vice-President), Nikhil Jain (Secretary) and Kaustabh Shukla (Asstt Secy).</p>
