Who is Venkata Datta Sai, P V Sindhu's soon-to-be groom?

Former badminton world champion P V Sindhu, who ended a long title drought with victory at the Syed Modi International in Lucknow on Sunday, will marry Hyderabad-based Venkata Datta Sai on December 22.

"The two families knew each other but it was only a month ago that everything was finalised. This was the only possible window as her schedule will be hectic from January," Sindhu's father, PV Ramana, told PTI.

"So that is the reason the two families decided to have the marriage ceremony on December 22. The reception will be held in Hyderabad on December 24. She will start her training soon after as the next season is going to be important."

But who exactly is the groom? Here's all you need to know:

Venkata Sai Dutta is the current Executive Director of Posidex Technologies, an Enterprise Information Insights and Analytics company, as well as the Managing Director and co-owner of Sour Apple Asset Management, a firm that offers portfolio management and financial advisory services.

Having done his Diploma in 'Foundation of Liberal and Management Education', he went on to pursue a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance at FLAME University, during which, he won the award for the 'Best Start Up Idea' at the Start up Fair of FLAME University, for a start up related to the electricity industry.

He then went on to work at JSW, before switching to Posidex and Sour Apple. He also then pursued a Masters in Data Science ane Machine Learning from International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore.

Besides this, he volunteered in various place, and had also interned at various firms during his college days.

"My solutions and products are deployed for critical operations at some of the biggest banks from HDFC to ICICI. Rest assured, most of you would have used one of my creations unwittingly at least once in your lifetime. If you happen to have a bank account, that is," he adds.

"Since childhood, the one thing that impressed me the most was technology and its ability to change lives. From tinkering with a thermostat as a kid to helping build an entity resolution model using number set theory. From solving for raw material consumption at a power plant to more recently solving billion data-point data set problems, technology continues to amaze me," he states, adding "I never really took school too seriously, but the stuff I did externally motivated me more. My BBA in finance and economics pales in comparison to managing an IPL team, but I must admit I learned a lot from both of these experiences. Today I combine my love for Finance and Technology by working with Prime 360 at Posidex and Sour Apple Asset Management."

The wedding-related events will begin on December 20.
