West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee has issued several instructions to party workers to ensure that no EVM tampering takes place on Thursday when the results of the Lok Sabha elections will be declared.

According to TMC sources Banerjee has instructed party workers to keep a steady vigil on EVM strongrooms. She has also asked TMC cadres not to accept even water from anyone outside the party at the counting centres.

“ The chief minister has also asked our workers to carefully check the seals on the EVMs,” a senior TMC leader said.

Mamata also told party’s polling agents not to leave the counting centres till the VVPAT counting is over.

“ Even after the counting is over the party workers have been asked not leave the counting centres till the certificates are issued,” the TMC leader said.

Meanwhile the state BJP has urged the EC to ensure that TMC cadres don't create any trouble at the counting centres in case the results are not in favour of the ruling party in the state.

Earlier the state BJP president Dilip Ghosh has warned that his party workers will not sit idle if TMC cadres resort to violence after the results are declared.
