U T Kadar criticises Roshan Baig

Condemning senior Congress leader Roshan Baig's statement, Minister for Urban Development U T Kadar said Baig is a senior leader of the party and he should not have aired his views publicly.

“Baig is a senior leader and had held several top posts in the party. Whatever the grievances he had, he should have expressed within the party forum and not publicly,” Kadar told reporters here.

Kadar was reacting to Baig's appeals to Muslims to join hands with BJP if the need arises.

Kadar said Baig should not have blamed Pradesh Congress President Dinesh Gundu Rao and former chief minister Siddaramaiah if the party failed to perform well in the Lok Sabha polls in Karnataka.

"Congress party always worked for the welfare of the minority community. As per the community leaders suggestions only, the Congress fielded only one Muslim candidate in the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka," he said.
