The Awadhi Food Festival at the J W Marriott is sure to impress those who love rich and traditional food from Lucknow. The festival which is on till November 4, offers unique treats and some dishes that are new to the city’s foodies.

The buffet spread has something for everyone. Start your meal with a shorba. If you are a non-vegetarians, you can enjoy the ‘Murgh Sultani Shorba’ or the ‘Murgh Tamatri Shorba’. The vegetarians will love the ‘Dal Ke Yakhni’ or the ‘Khumb Mutter Shorba’.

Kebab fans are in for a treat. The ‘Murgh Ke Parche’, ‘Murgh Kalmi Kebab’, ‘Paneer Surkhmasala Tikka’, ‘Paneer Kushrang Tikka’, ‘Aloo Tukri Lazeez’ and ‘Gobhi Achari’ are some of the options you can have.

The ‘Galawati Kebab’ will melt in your mouth and leave you wanting for more.

There are a number of authentic dishes offered as main course. ‘Dhungari Machli’ and ‘Mahi Kalimirch Korma’ in fish, ‘Murgh Changezi Masala’ and ‘Murgh Begam Bahar’ in chicken and ‘Baluchi Gosht’ and ‘Qurbani ka Gosht’ in mutton, are some dishes you don’t want to miss.

Pair that with rice items like ‘Murgh Mutter Pulao’ and ‘Chaanp Pulao’.

Vegetarians need not worry as ‘Aloo Mutter Tahiri’ and ‘Methi Ke Khichri’ on the menu will satisfy your taste buds.

The festival has highlighted traditional Awadi breads like ‘Sheermal’, ‘Baqarkhani’ or ‘Girda’ to have with the main course.

Chef Rehman, who curated the festival says, “We wanted Bengalureans to taste food which they are not necessarily used to and understand that there is a that Awadhi cuisine has to offer. I have tried to create varied options for vegetarians so that they are left out.”

We’re not done just yet. There’s plenty of desserts to try out too. If youa re looking for a warm dessert, ‘Ande Ka Halwa’ and ‘Seb Ka Halwa’ are recommended.

There are also cold desserts like ‘Besan Ke Kheer’ and ‘Shakerkand Kheer’ offered. The ‘Shahi Tukra’ is a must-have.

The buffet works on a rotational menu. It is priced at Rs 1,750 for adults and the kids buffet is priced at Rs 875.
