MLA serves free food

Free food was served to the stranded passengers at KSRTC bus stand in Bejai by Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath.

The stranded passengers were also provided with water bottles. Areca sheath plates were used for serving the food. In fact, the MLA himself served food to the needy.

Speaking to reporters, he said, “Congress has misused the administrative machinery. Many hotels were forcibly shut by protesters. Stones were pelted at hotels, which in turn has affected the stranded people. As an MLA it was my duty to serve food and water to the stranded passengers and those who were in need of it.”

He alleged that the behaviour of the Congress corporators and leaders were against the democratic setup. The state government had also pressurised the police to remain silent, he alleged.

The bandh call given by the Congress and Left parties are anti-people in nature, he added.
