AAP move is cheating, says BJP

Last Updated 23 December 2013, 21:59 IST

The BJP attacked the Aam Aadmi Party for joining hands with the Congress and said the alliance amounted to cheating people who have given the mandate to remove the “corrupt” Congress government.

Leader of BJP legislature party Harsh Vardhan said the decision of the AAP to form the government with the help of the Congress is cheating with the will of Delhiites.

“People of Delhi have rejected the corrupt Congress in the 2013 Assembly polls. But the AAP has joined hands with the corrupt,” he said. “The AAP has vowed to fight corruption at high moral grounds, but they are ready to form the government with the corrupt. They have broken their vow.”

“We wish they kept their word for the benefit of people,” he added.

Outgoing leader of opposition V K Malhotra said the AAP move to form the government with outside support of the Congress is “undemocratic”. “They have joined hands against whom they fought elections. The AAP had called the Congress a snake,” Malhotra said.

Delhi BJP unit chief Vijay Goel said: “If the AAP does good work we will support them. The credibility of AAP is at stake as it has joined hands with the corrupt Congress party.”
