BJP leader and former Gujarat minister Amit Shah, launched his party’s election campaign in West Bengal on Saturday.

“The Congress has not yet decided its leader and Prime Ministerial candidate for the next year’s Lok Sabha elections. Will it be Mouni Baba or Rahul Baba? The country is in dark over this issue. But we’ve decided to fight the Lok Sabha elections under Narendra Modi’s leadership,” Shah said, while addressing a gathering of BJP supporters in the city.

Shah was mocking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as “Mouni baba” and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi as “Rahul baba”. According to BJP sources, he has been sent to prepare the ground for Narendra Modi’s rally in Kolkata, which is expected to take place sometime in January. Shah also seemed to put an end to speculation over a possible alliance between his party and that of Mamata Banerjee as he launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool government in Bengal.
