Big B may promote Kerala

Bachchan had expressed his willingness to be the brand ambassador of God’s Own Country during his visit to Kochi last month. “I like this place, the people, its culture and the ambience here. If an offer comes from the government, I would be glad to promote this state,” Bachchan had said in response to a question during an interview to a Malayalam TV channel.

 Responding to this suggestion, Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Saturday sent a letter inviting Bachchan to take up the job. He said Bachchan’s stature would certainly help the state to promote itself in countries like the UK. The minister ends the letter inviting his suggestion on how to proceed further in this regard.

 Interestingly, it was the media which played a key role in getting Bachchan to be the brand ambassador in the case of Gujarat too. The superstar had said in Gandhinagar that he was impressed by Gujarat’s development and wanted to go to the state over and over again.  Bachchan replied positively when mediapersons asked him whether he would like to act as a brand ambassador for Gujarat as he did for Uttar Pradesh in the past. An elated Modi announced on the spot that he would take advantage of the superstar’s assurance.
