Noted film-maker from Bihar, Prakash Jha, is in the eye of storm again as his upcoming movie “Jai Gangaajal” has kicked up a fresh controversy as a sitting BJP MLA from Patna’s Bankipore constituency has been shown in poor light in the movie.

The BJP MLA Nitin Navin has threatened Jha with legal action if the film maker, known to make movies on relevant social issues, did not delete the reference to Bankipore. Nitin, who is also the national general secretary of the BJP’s Yuva Morcha, has written to the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and the censor board asking the authorities concerned to direct Jha to delete the objectionable reference.

“Prakash Jha is from Bihar. He is aware that there exists a constituency in Patna called Bankipore which I have been representing for the last three consecutive terms. Still, he has dared to show Bankipore and its MLA in poor light by portraying him as the one who has criminal antecedents,” said Nitin who enjoys a clean image.

Priyanka Chopra, who is in the lead role as an upright IPS officer in ‘Jai Gangaajal’, has been shown as cracking down on corrupt politicians.
