Insisting that Raja's "wrong doing" in the scam had been "confirmed" by the CBI probe that included telephone tapping, the party demanded his removal and a thorough probe into the multi-crore scam.
Charging the government with "unscrupulously utilising the CBI for its narrow political purposes", it said the "brazen manner" in which CBI investigations have been used to oppose the Opposition-sponsored cut motion was "bringing the agency into disrepute".
Phone tapping of political leaders including CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat "reinforces the charge that Congress is utilising security and intelligence agencies such as the IB for its political interests", the CPI(M) said in a statement.
It said the budget session of Parliament was marked by the outbreak of "large-scale corruption cases and scandals which are the outcome of the big business-politics nexus".
The IPL affair led to the resignation of a minister from the UPA government accused of malpractice, it said, adding that IPL involved "illegal money flowing in through the Mauritius route and other tax havens, the use of benami companies and large-scale evasion of taxes".
The "illegal mining activities" of Reddy brothers of Bellary involved thousands of crores of rupees and has the "protection of both the Congress government in Andhra Pradesh and the BJP government in Karnataka," it said.
The party also referred to the cases of corruption involving the Medical Council of India and the AICTE, besides allegations of corruption and misuse of funds allocated for disability sports organisation like the Paralympics Committee.
During its meeting, the Central Committee decided that the movement against price rise, which saw 13 parties observe a general strike, should continue and the Left parties should meet and chalk out the next course of action.
The party also extended its support to the public sector employees who were protesting against disinvestment of shares in enterprises like BSNL and Coal India.
It reiterated its opposition to the Civil Nuclear Liability Bill and the Foreign Education Providers Bill.
The party decided to launch nationwide campaign on various issues including restructuring Centre-state relations, against high level corruption, demanding firm action against extremist Hindutva outfits involved in terrorist violence and fuelling communal trouble and bringing the women's bill in Lok Sabha for passage.
