A former IT top executive and an alumni of S-Vyasa (Swamni Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana) has come up with an innovative aggregator app “YOGAglobal”, to find the nearest yoga teacher around users’ area.
Madhava Madanapalli, an insurance and technology professional and former vice president with IBM says that he went through a “life changing experience” with his masters course at S-Vyasa and dedicated the rest of his life to promotion of yoga.
“Unlike other apps that provide details of yoga classes, the latest app gives more personalised, qualified teachers to users. The app will currently be available on Android phones and will be officially launched on June 21,” Madhava said.
Explaining the app, he said it has been designed to bring the yoga community together, where teachers and students manage their schedules. Teachers can load their profiles including photos, video links etc, which will be shown to clients on a free webpage.
They can geo-locate themselves at multiple locations for classes to be discovered by new students, manage their student database, set up class schedules and manage cancellations, document payment details and broadcast messages.
Madhava said that a very important feature of the app is the expert consultation for therapy and treatment where the app has an expert panel of cardiologists, orthopaedicians, gynaecologists etc. who will guide and help yoga teachers to integrate modern medical treatment with yoga.
