Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Friday spoke to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath regarding the manhandling of a Kashmiri student at Sharda University in Greater Noida.

An official spokesperson said the governor sought the intervention of the UP Chief Minister to ensure that the Kashmiri students are provided a safe and secure environment in the educational institutions of the State.
“Yogi Adityanath informed the governor that strict disciplinary action would be taken on the Sharda University incident. And that he has already ordered an inquiry into the incident. He has assured governor that all possible measures would be taken to ensure safety of Kashmiri students,” he said.
On Wednesday a Kashmiri student was mercilessly beaten up by a group of students at Sharda University. The victim, Ahtisham Bilal, a first-year student of Bachelors in Medical Imaging Technology, was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media sites drawing flak in Kashmir.
