Didi’s game will be over in Bengal Assembly polls: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday slammed Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee for her slogan “khela hobe” (game on) and said that Bengal has decided that her game will be over in the Assembly elections.

“Didi, now you are saying ‘khela hobe (game on). Was not it enough for you to play with Bengal, to betray the people for 10 years? Now Bengal has decided that the game will be over and development will start,” said Modi. He was speaking at a rally in West Bengal’s Bankura district.

Modi said that it is clear that Mamata will taste defeat in the Assembly elections.

“People became poor in the 10 years of her rule but the Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders earned a fortune. Didi will be gone this time,” said Modi.

The Prime Minister said that he will not allow the TMC supremo to play with Bengal’s development and the dreams of its people. Referring to a campaign graffiti where a bandaged foot resembling the injured foot of the Chief Minister is seen kicking a football resembling his head the Prime Minister said that he will not allow her to kick Bengal’s development, the dreams of the people, Dalits and tribals.

“Look very carefully Didi, your forte has collapsed in Bengal,” said Modi.

He also said that while the BJP runs on schemes, the TMC runs on scams.

“The BJP runs on schemes and the TMC runs on scams. TMC always finds a way to make a scam in any scheme regardless of the Government running it. TMC’s mantra is where there is a scheme, there is a scam,” said Modi.

He further alleged that the TMC blocks Central schemes such as Ayushman Bharat and PM Kissan Samman Nidhi which work through direct benefit transfer as there is no scope for any scam.

“Schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, PM Kissan Samman Nidhi which function through direct transfer of benefits they did not have any chance to make scam so they refused to implement it,” said Modi.

Modi said that sensing defeat, the TMC supremo was now raising questions on the EVM.

“Now Didi is raising questions on the EVM. She does not like the EVM with which people kept her at helm of Bengal for 10 years. Didi day and night you are seeing your defeat,” said Modi.
