Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati who is on a two-day visit to Andhra Pradesh to participate in campaigning for the BSP, Janasena Party (JSP) and Left Party coalition has said that Pawan Kalyan will be made chief minister if the coalition wins the upcoming Assembly elections.

BSP is contesting in three Lok Sabha constituencies including Tirupati and 21 Assembly segments under a seat-sharing arrangement with JSP, CPI and CPI(M).

Addressing a press conference in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday along with JSP chief Pawan Kalyan she said that she is in favour of granting of special category status to the state, a promise neglected by the Congress and the BJP.

“Congress lost power because it never fulfilled its promises. People voted for BJP hoping for a change. BJP did the same,” she said. She felt that voters of the nation will bring in a silent revolution by dumping both the national parties in the ensuing elections.

“The BJP wants to divert the minds of the common man from real problems. When the BSP led coalition comes to power at the centre, we will not discriminate against states based on electoral preferences. BSP works in silence and unlike BJP, we will not tell what we will do for the nation, right away,” she said.

Wishing that Mayawati becomes the Prime Minister of the nation, Pawan Kalyan said when a chaiwallah can become the PM why not Mayawati. “She came from a humble background and as a lonely lady, faced many troubles and become CM of Uttar Pradesh four times,” he said.

Pawan who accorded a warm welcome to Mayawati, surprised everyone by opening the door for her when she went to meet him and even touched her feet out of respect.
