Rahul Gandhi pays tribute to farmers who died in rally

Rahul appealed to the House to stand in silence for a minute to remember those have lost their lives during the farmers' protest

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi along with other Opposition members in Lok Sabha on Thursday stood silence for a minute to remember those who lost their lives during farmers protest.

At end of his speech during a discussion on Budget, Rahul appealed to the House to stand in silence for a minute to remember those have lost their lives during the farmers' protest.

Opposition parties MPs including NCP, DMK and TMC stood while ruling party members continued to sit.

While asking the members to the seat, Speaker Om Birla objected to Rahul Gandhi conduct.

“If you wish to discuss something, give it to me in writing and I will allot time… but allow me to run the House,” Birla said.

It was Trinamool Congress MP, Derek O’Brien, on February 4, was first stopped midway in his response to the President’s speech in Rajya Sabha for a one-minute silent tribute to protesting farmers who died. All opposition MPs in the House stood up with Derek for the tribute.
