A CBI officer, who had conducted an investigation against former special director Rakesh Asthana, approached the Supreme Court on Tuesday against a transfer order issued to him on October 24, after an unprecedented feud among the top rungs involving chief Alok Verma came out in the open.

A K Bassi contended he had incriminating evidence against Asthana in the bribery case.

"There are grave and serious charges in the matter. Kindly list the application for hearing on Friday," advocate Sunil Fernandez submitted before a bench presided over Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi.

The bench said "we will see," while refusing to give the precise date of hearing.

Bassi claimed there is sufficient evidence regarding Rs 3.3 crore bribe charge against Asthana. He also claimed to have WhatsApp messages and call records as evidence.

He also implicated Special Secretary of R&AW Samanta Goel in the bribery case.

Bassi urged the court to call for evidence of technical surveillance and set up an SIT probe against Asthana.
