The reason for the arrest is not known, though Suresh is a prime accused in many murder cases. Suresh’s arrest was in such a dramatic manner that it created the impression of a kidnap. The former Naxalite leader had gone underground after Ravi’s murder and was known to be working on a plot to bump off Maddelacheruvu Suri, the prime accused in Ravi’s murder.
According to media reports, the police got clues about Suresh’s whereabouts after tapping his wife Sunita’s phone. Anantapur SP Manish Kumar Sinha confirmed the arrest on Friday and said Suresh would be produced before the court soon.
Sinha said the Andhra police had sought the assistance of Gujarat Police and a detailed plan was developed by the Special Team. Suresh and Chaman Saheb, who was yet to be traced, are the close followers of Paritala Ravi who was murdered by rivals. TDP leaders are pointing fingers at a conspiracy angle in the arrest while the police denied such allegations.
Following Suresh’s arrest, the media is agog with conspiracy theories. Being a strong follower of Ravi, Suresh and Chaman has taken oath to kill JC Divakar Reddy, Congress Leader from Anantapur District and others allegedly involved in Ravi murder.
However, Suri has denied any links to the arrest of Suresh.
Wife’s complaint
Meanwhile, Sunita has asked the AP police to present her husband before the court. Ravi’s supporters allege that Divakar Reddy, who is desperately looking for a ministerial berth and projecting himself as a strong supporter of Chief Minister K Rosaiah, has drafted a plan to kill all his opponents to strenghthen his hold in Ananatapur district.
JC, as he is popularly known, is said to be trying to negate the growing clout of Suri in Anantpur district who is an aide of Jaganmohan Reddy, MP. Interestingly, the present arrest has happened after Aravind Rao, who belongs to Anantapur district become DGP. However JC is silent on the issue.
Ravi’s rise in politics and his brutal murder was adapted into a movie by Bollywood director Ramgopal Verma in his latest production “Raktha Charithra”, in which Vivek Oberoi played the role of the protagonist.
