Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday evening embarked on his longest roadshow in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh.

The 46-km roadshow between Joura to Banmor in Morena district of the Chambal region evoked enthusiastic response.

Riding a bus, Rahul greeted people lined up on the road sides all through the journey.

He was accompanied by Jyotiraditya Scindia and Kamal Nath, Congress' Madhya Pradesh unit chief.

On the second day of his fifth state tour in a month, Rahul started his campaign after paying obeisance to Guru Granth Sahib in a Gurudwara in Gwalior.

On Monday, he had performed puja at Peetambaram temple and prayed at a mosque.

In his speeches, the Congress president targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his silence on the Rafale issue.

He also slammed the Shivraj Singh government over the issues of farmer distress, Vyapam scam, unemployment and corruption.

“ There is a chain of corruption from bottom to the top which is linked to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ”, he said.

Rahul has already led roadshows in Gwalior, Rewa, Satna, Jabalpur and Bhopal in the last one month in the run up to the Assembly election, which is due on November 28.

Earlier, the Congress president addressed three election meetings in Sheopur, Sabalgarh and Joura.
