JOIN USRajasthan Police Recruitment Exam-2018, held in four shifts in four shifts, was conducted peacefully across the state on Saturday and Sunday. Around 70% of 14 lakh aspirants appeared in the examination.
Director General of Police O P Galhotra said, " A total of 15,13,137 candidates had applied for 13,142 vacancies. However, only 70% appeared. Exams were conducted peacefully across the cities". However, the special operations group (SOG) of state police arrested three men for allegedly duping five aspirants.
The department had requested all the candidates appearing for the exam on Sunday to follow the code of conduct set for the exams. The police department had also enforced a dress code for the exams. Candidates were asked to take off their shoes outside the exam centres, and those wearing full-sleeved shirts had to switch to half-sleeved ones.
However, lakhs of people continued to suffer on Sunday as internet services continued to remain suspended. Reacting to the internet ban, Congress state president Sachin Pilot said, "Suspending internet for two days shows BJP government’s failure to catch those indulging in cheating and caused inconvenience to citizens".
This is for the second time the police department is holding this exam. Online exam for recruiting constables was held in different shifts in March this year, but it was cancelled after special operation group of the state police busted a gang involved in facilitating candidates in cheating in a high-tech manner.
The exam is offline and optical mark recognition (OMR) based this time and arrangements for frisking each candidate, their biometric attendance have been made. Around 14 lakh candidates at 664 centres across the state had applied for 13,142 posts.
