Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday launched a scathing attack on rights activists who are questioning the government's stand on the issue of Bangladeshi migrants in Assam.

He said nowhere in the world people raise the issue of human rights for those who have “illegally” entered into other countries.

Sharing podium with Prime Minister Narendra Modi here at an event, Singh, also in a veiled manner, lashed out at the those criticising the government over the recent arrest of five civil liberties activists including Vernon Gonsalves, Arun Ferreira, Varvara Rao for their alleged links with the banned outfit CPI-Maoist.

The home minister was addressing a function organised here to mark the silver jubilee foundation day of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). The prime minister was the chief guest at the function.
