A TDP activist here has filed two separate complaints against filmmaker Ramgopal Varma (RGV) for posting derogatory comments and a morphed photo of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu joining the YSRCP on social media.

TDP activist V D V V Satyanarayana alias Devibabu Chowdhary filed a complaint at Tadepalli Gudem rural police station in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh and at Bachupally here under Cyberabad commissionerate.

The complainant said that Ram Gopal Varma has shared a morphed picture of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Twitter, in which the TDP chief is seen alongside YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy sporting a YSRCP scarf suggesting that he has joined Jagan’s party.

Ram Gopal Varma captioned the picture, “Wowwww in a shocking twist, just now CBN joined YSRCP.”

Bachupally Inspector S Jagadeeshwar told reporters that he made a General Diary entry of Devibabu Chowdhary’s complaint and has forwarded the complaint about a legal opinion.

“We will take further action after receiving legal opinion,” he said. “I have filed complaints in both the states as the postings are provocative. It is a blatant effort by the filmmaker to disturb peace in AP," Chowdhary said demanding an open apology by RGV.

TDP activists also said that RGV has also posted yet another picture on Facebook with satirical comments on Naidu, his son N Lokesh, daughter-in-law Brahmani, and her father Balakrishna.

This is not the first time that RGV has ruffled feathers of TDP activists by poking fun at their leaders.

In 2018 TDP Kurnool MLA S V Mohan Reddy has lodged a complaint with the II Town Police against RGV objecting a song in the film, Lakshmi’s NTR. The movie was not released in Andhra Pradesh.
