Kerala’s Governor-designate P Sathasivam arrived in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday, a day ahead of his swearing-in ceremony. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala were among the leaders who welcomed Sathasivam at the airport, DHNS reports from Thiruvananthapuram.
The swearing-in ceremony at Raj Bhavan on Friday will mark the end of a series of public statements by political leaders on the “inappropriateness” of appointing a former chief justice of India as the governor. Chandy had earlier stated that he was not consulted by the Centre ahead of Sathasivam’s appointment.
