Sudha Murthy came forward to donate books worth Rs 2.5 cr to students of 1725 primary schools and 842 high schools in both Krishna and Guntur districts.
The philanthropist decided to distribute the books containing moral education values under 250 titles to primary schools and 300 titles to high schools.
Sudha distributed books worth Rs 3 cr in 54 schools of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation and 45 government and zilla parishad schools last year. Sudha Murthy is instrumental in development of 60,000 libraries in Karnataka.
Praising the services of Sudha Murthy Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said Infosys has been providing a helping hand in his mission to transform Andhra Pradesh as a knowledge hub.
He thanked Sudha Murthy for selecting Andhra Pradesh for her service programmes and stated that her move would be an inspiration to several others.
