In a ghastly incident, a body of a Class IX student bearing multiple wounds from sharp objects was found from a school in Vadodara.

The blood-soaked body of 14-year-old Dev Tadvi was found from a toilet at Shree Bharti Vidyalaya school in Baranpura locality of Vadodara.

The body bore several wounds from sharp weapons. A 15-inch knife soaked in blood was also recovered from the crime scene.

"When some secondary standard students went to the washroom on the first floor, they found the boy lying in a pool of blood. After they raised an alarm, our staff rushed to the washroom. Later, we called up emergency ambulance services and police," Surendra Singh, principal of the school said.

Preliminary investigation by police suggests that there was a fight between students from Class IX to Class XII, leading to the murder.

"We have also recovered a school bag that had knives, knuckles and chilli powder. It seems the student had come well-prepared to carry out the crime," Vadodara DCP R S Bhagora said.

"We are checking the CCTV footage to see whether there was just one boy or two-three boys who attacked Dev," he added.

The body of the boy was sent for post-mortem. Dev had interestingly taken admission in the school merely 10 days ago and was staying with his aunt, as his parents were living in Anand.
