Senior Uttar Pradesh minister and SBSP president Om Prakash Rajbhar tried a bizarre tactic to prevent his supporters from switching loyalty.

The Suheldev Bharat Samaj Party (SBSP) chief while addressing party workers in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district, about 400 kilometre from here, on Sunday said that whoever attended the meeting of his rivals will have to face his ''curse''.

''Any one, who attends the meetings of my opponents, will face my curse....he will catch jaundice,'' the minister said, whose party is BJP's alliance partner in the state.

''The disease will not be cured until I give him my medicine....my blessings,'' he added.

Rajbhar heaped praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and urged his supporters not to go to the meetings addressed by leaders of the Congress, the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the BSP.

Rajbhar has been demanding a total ban on sale of liquor in the state on the lines of Bihar but, the state government has made it clear that it is not possible.

Earlier, Rajbhar had made bizarre remarks and also attacked Adityanath and the BJP over different issues.

He had also threatened to sever all ties with the BJP over what he claimed the centre's attitude toward the OBCs and Dalits.

State BJP president Mahendra Nath Pandey had even warned Rajbhar that the party will take action if he continued to spew venom against the saffron party.
