A retired official of the Revenue Department who was involved in the polling process for 33 years prior to his retirement was in for a surprise on Tuesday, as his name did not feature in the voters list.

G Chandraiah had come to St John's School in Shivakumar Layout and was shocked to find that his name was not in the list. "I have voted everytime before this. During my service in the Revenue Department, I had even participated in mustering and demustering. Names of all the members in my family was on the list, save mine," he said.

He said that he would file an RTI application to understand why his name was dropped from the list. "I don't understand why they deleted my name," he said, adding that he would take the issue to a logical conclusion.
