
Kudalasangama Panchamasali Peeth seer Basava Jaya Mruthyunjaya Swami and other leaders of the community decided to continue their agitation seeking a 2A reservation on Thursday.
The decision was taken during a meeting held to discuss measures to press for their demands, for which ministers from the community C C Patil and Murugesh Nirani besides firebrand BJP leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal were absent.
The seer, along with former Congress MLA Vijayanand Kashappanavar, held the meeting at a private hotel, where a decision to continue the demonstrations was taken. Protests will be held at taluk and district centres on March 1, following which memorandums will be submitted to the government seeking reservation under the 2A category for the community.
