BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa's visit to Ahmedabad to meet the party's national president Amit Shah has sparked off speculations in political circles.

Yeddyurappa left his Dollar’s Colony residence in a private car along with former minister Basavaraj Bommai and took a flight to Ahmedabad. According to sources, Shah had invited Yeddyurappa to discuss the current political scenario in the state. The duo had not met face to face after Yeddyurappa failed to prove the majority on the floor of the Assembly on May 19.

Preparation for the Lok Sabha elections and the agenda for the state executive committee meeting scheduled in Bengaluru on June 29 were also discussed, the sources said. There was also speculation that BJP was preparing to fish in troubled waters and wean away some of the disgruntled legislators from the Congress and the JD(S) to its fold.
